Director of Behavioral Science
Professor of Family and Community Medicine

Family and Community Medicine

"I have enjoyed clinical practice since completing my Master's degree in 1975 and my Doctoral degree in 1993. Prior to joining the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1981, I worked as a child and family therapist at the St. Aemelian Treatment Center in Milwaukee. I am experienced in working with individuals with a wide range of problems. Because of my appointment in Family Medicine, I have worked collaboratively as a licensed psychologist with primary care physicians for many years. I believe in a coordinated approach to treatment, communicating with client's physicians when possible and indicated.

I have had extensive training in family systems and in cognitive behavioral therapy approaches. My clinical approach is determined by the specifics of the client's problems, the environment in which the client lives and the nature of the relationship with the client."
