Emergency Medicine


Dr. Callahan is the Residency Program Director and Director of Education Services for the Department of Emergency Medicine. His primary focus is on the development of emergency physicians, especially the teaching of residents and medical students.

 

Dr. Callahan completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago, and was a member of the faculty there prior to entering private practice.  Following five years as Chairman and Medical Director of the Department of Emergency Medicine for Mercy Health System in Janesville, WI, he returned to the academic practice with the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2000. Dr. Callahan also completed his Master of Science degree in Administrative Medicine from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and has an interest in educational theory, cognitive science, and resident success.
